R & D Director at EcoAct, Meinrad has more than 15 years of experience in climate issues, energy sector, community resilience, and certification tools and standards applied to the evaluation of development contributions particularly in the context of the carbon market.

A graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and a PhD in Energy Systems Modeling and Optimization, Meinrad has held strategic consulting positions in the private sector and held senior positions in the private sector. ‘non-governmental organizations. He has served as Technical Director of the Gold Standard Foundation, and Senior Administrator in charge of climate issues at the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). He has also conducted research activities in the field of energy transition at EPFL, the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and more recently at the Institute of Environmental Sciences of the University of Geneva. Meinrad is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Gold Standard, where he also chairs the Technical Governance Committee.

At EcoAct, Meinrad oversees technology watch and innovation strategy for the development and launch of new products and services in France and internationally.
