In August 2017, 72 States, representing more than 87% of global aviation activity committed to participate in the international Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) agreement.
The global market-based measure (MBM), aims to support the aviation industry to achieve its aspirational goal of capping greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions at 2020 levels, delivering carbon neutral growth from 2020.
