Gerald Maradan

CEO and Co-founder


Gerald is a well-known expert in climate and carbon strategies for companies and territories. He created EcoAct in 2005.

Physicist and engineer by training (he holds an engineering degree from INPG – Grenoble Institute of Technology –  and a MRes in Physics from INP Toulouse), he also received an MBA from HEC Paris. He has coordinated more than 100 consulting missions and participated in the development of more than 25 carbon offsetting programs (biomass, wind, methanisation, hydroelectricity, heat recovery, energy efficiency, REDD+). Gérald also worked at STMicroelectronics, one of the world leaders in new technologies. Responsible for the development of environmental programs, he was involved in 1996 in the world’s first large-scale carbon neutrality experiment. He has since accompanied many groups in implementing their carbon neutrality policies.

Chair of ICROA in 2013 & 2014, Gérald has been a lecturer at the University of Paris Sorbonne, and is a regular speaker at international conferences.

Gerald is the co-founder of the NGO Entrepreneurs for Life, which supports innovative social entrepreneurs with the aim of reducing poverty.
